I hesitate (but not much) to set off in another philosophical direction, but
I couldn't resist a NEVER! John, if stone is honesty, then shouldn't we
leave them where they lay?

There are less-viscous epoxies available...and if you can't hide the crack,
then isn't it an honest crack? We conceal stainless pins to secure the piece
to its base...is that dishonest?
