Slate: Diary of a Mad Letter Carver
This sounds like a perfect description of a zen state.
Steve
The point is, we all seek a way to the essence of the things we
do, and often our conscious mind seems to interfere. And so we
think the answer is to avoid it. But in physical activities we
presuppose the technical ability. After years of figuring things
out and teaching your body to do the moves to perfection you can
afford to turn off the overt thinking and apply the human mind
directly to the dance. But this it no reason to turn away from
our pedestrian minds. Its using both that is the answer, and the
hard part.
