Grinders
Hey All, Norman if you are in the market to buy a small grinder, do
yourself a favour, spned a little more and be alot more satisfied, I have
been in the stone restoration trade for almost 20 years and I have used
everything from $ 29 specials from WalMart to $ 400 Freuds, without doubt
the best mini grinder I have ever used is the Bosch 5" electronic variable
speed, plenty of power, smooth operation and with the variable I can use it
as a cutter with a thincut blade(high RPM) or I can put a spinner disc on it
and turn down the RPM to whatever speed I need, depending on how much
material I need to remove or what type of finish texture I'm looking for, at
some point you'll have to put in a set of brushes(apprx$15) and give the
off/on swith a good cleaning out, mind you I talking about a grinder that
has been used every day for 3-4 hours a day on sandstone, its very hard on
gear because its so abrasive, the Bosch 5" grinder costs about $350 and in
my opinion worth every penny.
