Grinders
Norman,
I think the reason there is no consensus is that usage. Even being
retired, I find that I have so many tools (toys) that I don't have time to use any
of them frequently. I bought a cheap angle grinder 5 years ago and it is
still working fine. I do stone, metal and wood with it, but none for long
periods of time.
Could I sign up for the study? I could use some government funds to buy
more toys.

Seems there is little consensus on high- versus low-end tools.
I propose a large, government-funded study to compare a statistically
significant number of grinders. Data will include manufacturer, model,
stone type, total hrs run per tool, tool replacement costs, other costs
such as injuries incurred, etc. When its all figured out people will
save a lot of money.
