Jade Changing Colour??
Raymond,
It's of course difficult to tell from here, but it's possible for jade to
absorb skin oils....if the bottom of the stone is in contact. There is also
a lot of dyeing going on.....some more permanent than others. I'd suggest
scrubbing it with hot water and liquid dish detergent and an old toothbrush.
Other than that I don't know what could be done. Most jewelers have
ultrasonic cleaning tanks for jewelry and one of them near you might want to
try that as a last resort. I hope this helps.

Subject: [stone] Jade Changing Colour??
Hi, I just received a jade pendant of a gourd with a plant around it, from
my Grandmother who just came back from China. The pendant is white, not pure
white, kinda cloudy white. I've only had it and worn it for about 4 days.
Just today I noticed the bottom of the pendant has changed to a dark yellow
colour. I'd like to know what is happening, and whether if it is fake or
real and whether I can do anything about it myself.
Thanks
