Norman,
Being mathematically illiterate, I can only respond visually. But it
seems that one is left with a central parallelogram solid that must
represent the inner space that is larger than the outer shell. Given
that 3D is defined by x,y, and z axes, the fourth dimension must be
perpendicular to all three. Which direction is that?
Has anyone carved a representation of this?
I wonder what Madeleine L'Engle would make of it.
