New to List. Granite Problem
Quoted text begins.I have a large granite boulder which I want to break up.

Hi William, welcome to the list.
Both the drills that you mentioned are large enough to drill a 3/4" hole for
plugs & feathers. Why buy an expensive drill just for one job? You could hire
one of these machines for a day. I've used a Hilti HE42 demolition hammer as
well.
I don't think that steel spikes would work as well as plugs and feathers. Spikes
would jam up the hole, and you would have to drill all around the spike to get
it out again.
Regards,
Simon
