Breaking Bits
Hi all,
I've been lurking on this one, and drilling holes in granite between
postings.
I don't think I possess appropriate equipment a Metabo 2 speed hammer drill
and standard masonry bits, in general my requirements may not be quite what
any drill is really designed for as almost none of my holes can be drilled
straight down but are instead either drilled upwards or horizontally.
As I'm usually drilling into marble boulders with very irregular surfaces I
find accuracy particularly difficult. Most drills seem to imply that you are
going to drill into vertical or horizontal surfaces.
Is there any system that:-
Can keep the drill straight whatever angle you may be drilling.
Is light enough to use comfortably at any angle.
Can handle up to around 20mm bits drilling holes up to around 100mm.
Can handle granite and basalt but most commonly used on marble.
What do you reckon? Thanks in advance
Clive
