Granite Problem
G'day George
Quoted text begins.Drilling and then using feathers and wedges is always the easiest. You get
the most stone removal for the least amount of work.
End of quote.
That appears to be just the trick. I'm going to purchase an AEG PN11E rotary
hammer drill in a few weeks. It is supposed to be more than up to the task
of drilling granite.
Quoted text begins. What are you working on? It sounds like you are leveling off a giant metal
meteor!
End of quote.
You are about right! It is a boulder that pops up its ugly head in many
places around our yard. Of interest at the moment is an area under our house
where I intend to build a home theater/music room. In total I have between 5
and 8 cubic meters of rock to remove, I guess around 10,000Kg total. It
covers the whole floor surface of the room that is being built. A friend (?)
suggested I machine the rock flat and polish it! Hmmm....a polished granite
floor! Now that would look excellent, but would be very costly to do! If the
truth be known, this boulder probably makes up most of the hill we live on.
Simon - I've emailed Latham for a price on their plug and feathers sets.
I'll post their response here.
Cheers
