Granite Problem
Sounds like I live on the same hillside as you do ! I'm working on
exposing some granite for a natural bench/patio on the side of my
yard... as I was exposing it I ran into a boulder that has to go,
albeit a bit smaller than yours. I got a used Bosch rotary hammer
off ebay for 62$, and a set of plugs and feathers on the way.
Finding those plugs and feathers is quite a pain.... Doing a google
search comes up with nothing remotely related to masonry :P I was
able to find some finally for 8$ a set from a local stone yard.
I was originally planning on using Dexpan to remove the boulder, but
it required a 1 + 1/2" wholes through the whole rock, where the plugs
are only 3/4" wholes deep enough for the plug to rest. Seemed like it
would be cheaper and easier to go with the plugs and feathers.
Here's the info of the place I got the plugs from. The guy who works
there owns a quarry down in Connecticut, and has been a great help.
But I imagine shipping would be a killer to Australia.
