Bitch Pick
Simon, looking at the woodcut the tool doesn't look as big as sledge hammer
or stone axe - it looks a lot like a geologists pick or a roofers or slaters
pick or walling hammers or a brick layers mortar pick. None quite the same
as the pic though ....

I wonder if the scutch hammer replaced the picks? More material moved per
