Using stone in the presence of fire
I guess I am just being overly cautious. If the stone can survive total
emersion in fire for 3 hours after being soaked for 2 days it must be
worthy. I will deffinitely take Johns advice! Soapstone seems to be
excellent for this purpose.
Vugs and Vasicles and Voids! All Vs, triply redundant, completely
unforgettable, thanks Tomas, I've never heard those two.
Dawn it sounds like you have a costly, irritating problem. I would contact
the vendors of the zero-clearance steel fireboxes regarding installation and
required air gaps. They should have good advice concerning their product and
its design. I assume that you are using fabbed boxes, correct me if I'm
wrong.
