whoops!
Oof Dah!
I forgot to answer one of youe questions Sean. The stone is part of the
Niagra escarpment in Wisconsin. It is Silurian Epoch Limestone in my book
but I have heard people call it Dolomite, and most recently there was some
flap in the scientific community that it should be called Dolostone. All of
the other locals just call it Limestome. I like to refer to Limestones in
regard to the Epoch it was deposited in. I will write about the geological
profile and glacial periods of Wisconsin in much finer detail in the future.
It is quite complex and I cannot even begin to approach it properly in the
time that I have available now. It is beautiful and sunny outside! I gotta
go!
Have a good
weekend, daed
