Mortar
Hello Stoners, maybe someone out in cyberstone could lend some advice, I'm
installing some 12"x12" black granite tile(apprx.3/8" thick) on the hearth
and under the fire grate of a fireplace, it has been my experience that
granite does alot of expanding and contracting during heating/cooling, I was
thinking of using a refractory mortar to both set the tile in and as a
finish grout, is refractory mortar able to be dyed?, I am also wondering if
the refractory mortar will expand/contract at the same rate as the granite
tiles, any and all advice will be appreceiated, thanks and I hope all is
well with everyone.
7 days without stone.......makes one weak
