Another thing to consider is whether the cemetery will allow a metamorphic,
rather than an igneous, stone to be used. I labored for a month over a
marble horizontal flush marker for my best friend and then had all my
efforts rendered moot when the cemetery rejected the stone because it was
made of marble and not granite.

Good Luck,

Chaz

One other thought. Many modern cemetaries do not allow elevated
markers. Flat on the ground only so as not to interfer with the
perpetual care mowers. Before beginning your endevor, you should
check out the pertinant regulations.
