Subject:
why? (upright marble/granite cemetery stones)
Many cemeteries today only want monuments placed flat in the ground in the
newer sections because they don't want anything to get in the way of the
lawn mowers - even if it was a thing of beauty. Also, a lot of damage has
been done to the old marble upright stones due to these lawn mowers. The
granite cemetery stones resist these bumps (or crashes) better than marble
or limestone stones, although they don't have the seemingly living beauty
of the old marble stones.
