Daed ,

While I agree that diamond technology has made it possible to
"move a lot of stone quickly" and the mills around here that are
using narrow diamond belt saws to cut up quarry blocks can cut
true and square to dimension (if the bar is trued), eliminating
having to put the stone on a planer to get s6s stock. But I
have to say that the dimond blades I have in my shop almost
never go on the circular saw. ( that way they do last forever)
I find for the kind of work that I do, the carborundum (fiber)
blades give a much cleaner, finished cut than any diamond blade
I've tried, and the limestone is for the most part very
agreeable to being cut with a throw away blade. Now if I were
working granite or one of the other hot rocks on a regular
basis, all of my tooling would be different, and diamonds would
be a major component.

Oh, I think Karen would have quite a time trying to cut up
bathroom stall partitions on a 10 inch tile saw. Don't believe
they would fit on the carrage very well.
