Hi All,
My name is Will Shotton and I reside in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I'm
a restoration mason who specializes in heritage building care and
maintenance as well as new, natural stone construction. My training
also includes stone carving and historical mortar mixing.
I'm interested in making contact with like-minded people (i.e.
interested in all facets of stone work) who possess different skills
and experiences. I'm not too sure if I'm sending this to the right
address but we'll see. I find stone a heck of a lot more
straightforward than computers!
I'll pipe up when I have some queries and if anyone has questions
about stone masonry in Eastern and Central Ontario let me know. The
bulk of the area's original stone masonry is constructed of sandstone
and limestone dating to the early-mid 1800s. Most of it was built by
Scottish masons but there is still a large variety of styles in
existence.
Looking forward to learning more,
Will
