Thanks everyone for acknowledging my fledgling membership in your group. I haven't checked out the archives in detail yet but its on the agenda and I look forward to participating.

Oscar--I believe we've met at (of all places) the Ottawa Police station during a sculpture expo a few years ago. I think (if I remember correctly) that your piece consisted of a green marble tooled to a smooth finish. I was still (am still) learning the craft and was encouraged by some of the work I saw there. I attended with my partner at the time, Fiona King Foster. She had many kind words with regards to you and your work. We'll definitely make contact sooner than later, especially considering our proximity and one degree of separation.

For everyone's general info my stone background lies primarily in architectural detail carving and stone restoration. I'm interested in exploring my artistic side although I'm not sure yet if it exists! I would be happy to field any questions regarding construction and rehabilitation as well as Rumford fireplaces and masonry heaters.
