i think you might consider trying several types of tools on test pieces. i
can assure you that wood tools are gentler and leave less scars but so often
one has to see first hand to know. to me, power tools of any sort are
definately counterindicated one slip and an entire piece can be ruined by a
scar which can not be removed. it is the translucency that makes this
material so aluring and to preserve that takes a light touch at the right
angle and the right tools. it is the nature of alabaster to shatter inside
if abused and that leaves a scar which no amount of polishing can remove.
this also makes this type of stone extremely exciting and fun to work.
