Subject: Scroll Saw Blades to Cut Stone?

Hello James,
Welcome to the list. Your mixture sounds like a fun, quick medium to work
with, and always flawless indeed. I have looked at some wire saw set-ups,
they sure are expensive. Some of the wire costs $180/ft! If I where doing
this, I think I would place some gringo or cast blocks in my molds during
the pour for wild shapes. Why cut?

Have a good day, daed

Hi! My name is James. I am in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada and I have
just started sculpting.
I am using my own gypsum formula and casting blocks (in a mold box) for
sculpting. The material is maybe 2 or 3 times harder than regular
gypsum. It is marbled like marble and even has the finished feel of
marble. The blocks are approximately 2" thick and the length and width
vary depending on my requirements
I have come across a problem that I am hoping someone can assist me
with.
I need to cut (straight and curved cuts) the stone from time-to-time to
get the appropriate size pieces that I need for my sculptures.
I have neen using a "scroll saw" with 15TPI blades. They cut fine but
break often. So I am hoping someone can suggest a better choice of
scroll saw blades that will perform better for my purposes. Any
suggestions?

James
