How exactly do stones 'creep about' after being set in a stone wall? How do
they 're-seal' themselves? I've never witnessed or heard of such behavior in
the cold immobile heard of stone. Shall we presume these are dynamic stones?
In modern times, polyurethane is used to accommodate expansion and
contraction in masonry systems (primarily the joint between the structure and the
masonry skin), but I've never seen data of linseed oil allowing mortar and stones to
reset themselves. .
Please elaborate on this.
