Subject: Foredom vs. Electronic high torque dental lab tool?

Hi,

I am looking for information regarding what tool I need at this point for my
stone work. I've been working with sandstone, marble, and a bit of Indiana
limestone for about a year and a half now. I do relief type work, varying
from 4" square to 24" so far, starting with Trow and Holden pneumatic
chisels, and doing
detail work with a Dremel 440 series XPR flex shaft tool. With this I use
mostly inexpensive diamond encrusted bits.

My Dremel peetered out, so am now looking to buy something more
powerful and reliable, yet comparable to Dremel's 35,000 rpm. Some
suggestions have been a Foredom TX flex shaft 1/3 HP motor with the #35
handpiece, which accommodates a variety of collets. A dentist friend
suggested an electric motor with handpiece like what he uses in his lab,
which has high torque and 35,000 rpm, but is limited to standard 3/32" shaft
bits (brand I've looked into is ASEPTICO). Don't know what to do. Has
anybody had to make this choice, or just have some opinions?
Thank you.
Luba
