Safety mask / goggles fogging
Fogging occurs for the same reason that water drops adhere to glass: the
water molecules are polarized, and one side of each molecule sticks to the glass
surface (other molecules then pile up, following the positive/negative
alternation of molecules, in layers).
The stuff they sell in dive shops is certainly safe for glasses. So is
anything you might buy to prevent fogging in regular eyeglasses.
Stay away from the ones for automobiles. They usually contain a toxic
solvent such as denatured alcohol, which makes them much more effective, but not
safe for your eyes (some of the manufacturers tell you to apply the stuff to the
windshield then leave it, well ventilated, before inhabiting the car).
