Quoted text begins.Hello all,
I've been lurking for a while and though that this would be the
proper crowd to ask what vendors would be worthwhile to pester at
the upcoming stone expo in las vegas a quik look at the lis of
exhibitors was a little daunting. our stone shop is giong under the
guise of learning more about countertop (yawn) product.
End of quote.
The primary focus of most StonExpo exhibitors is the countertop
industry. There isn't much on dimensional stone (stuff thicker than 2
or 3 cm), you'll have to just walk up and down all the aisles and
find individual companies with products of interest. Some of the
suppliers, like Eastern Marble and Braxton Bragg, do have tools that
work for carving, like saws, adhesives, work benches, lots of
grinding and polishing equipment. It's mostly aimed at production
work. Trow and Holden, Granite City Tool, and Bicknell often exhibit.
A few quarries exhibit, but they usually don't bring stone samples-
too much weight to schlep.
