Quarries in Belgium -
I've found that the single best tool to find quarries is a good map of the
area. The second most useful tool is to question the rock and mineral clubs
or shops in the area.Using these contacts I have been able to find abandoned
gem mines(Garnet and Tourmaline)with large chunks of carvable stone and both
granite(Deer Isle) and marble(Vermont Vertigri) that had discard piles that
allowed you to fill your truck free of charge.I've also used them to locate
abandoned mines and quarries that were local sources for sharpening stones.
Detailed maps of the area would be where I'd start.
Bob
PS-The side trips and people you meet are sometimes the best part of the
adventure.
