That has not been my experience with this stone. It is a consistent
depth of color, and comes through even with machine-free hand
polishing with wet/dry paper. It takes a very high polish without
machinery, and has extremely small - almost invisible - crystals.
I forgot to mention that the stone also has some directional black/
gray streaks in it.
