Hammer for pitching
Hello everyone,
I am wondering what is the best weight and type of hammer to use for
pitching. I tried using my regular 2 pound hammer and it just bounced off
of the 2 inch handset. Do I need a heavier hammer? Maybe 3 or 4 pounds? I
am not sure if my hammer is steel or iron. I am carving Carrara marble.
The surface I was attempting to pitch was flat and I was setting the handset
about two inches back from the edge.
Thank you for the help,
John Halter
