the forms as opposed to textures.
I looked at your work again....I like the way you leave areas unfinished or naturally textured. It does add interest, and emotional content to your work. The purists sometimes make their carvings look like the plaster casts they are working from....the work totally lacks interpretation/feeling. I think that texture is one of a number of sculptors tools. ( Like any thing else it can also be overdone, like cheap decoration.) I just don't think that it should be as ignored, as it has been. Actually, it might be interesting to exploit texture..... maybe there is a whole new school of thought waiting to be discovered? Elle
