gluing slate to granite
Hi everybody,
I recently was adhering a carved slate memorial plaque to a polished granite
base stone and used gorilla glue, as has been suggested here in the past. I
thought it worked great at first, but when moving the stone it popped off,
clean as a whistle (and actually came off the rough slate side, not the
polished granite). In hindsight I guess I should have scored both surfaces
first, but I'm wondering if that is even enough to make this work? Can
anybody suggest a different glue for this application? or was it my method
that was at fault (I used water as suggested for non-porous surfaces)?
Thanks,
Karen Bereza
