Writing an artist's statement
Artists statments just drive me nuts! If I could write a statment that
actually made a difference, I'd be a professional writer.
Keeping your statment short, a hundred words or less keeps you from
babbeling nonsense. If you are like me, keep it simple. I don't have the
education and vocabulary of a university graduate so I don't try to fake it.
Finaly, after you agonized over every word for 24 hours , have your 6th
grade school teacher wife check grammer , punctuation, and spelling so you
end up with something that is organized , makes sense and takes up half the
space.
Actually sitting down once a year and putting into words what it is that you
are trying to do, is extremly important. It helps me keep focused on what is
really important.
I really like Sue's thoughts on connecting with potential customers.
