Delayne's Update from BC to Vietnam
Hi Delayne,
I'm happy for you for the positive turn in your fortunes. So my idea of
you going to California to carve large didn't come to pass. Its good to
see that you're grabbing onto this new opportunity. In a way your
recent experiences remind me of an old climbing friend of mine who took
becoming unemployed as the opportunity to leave cubicle world to start
a non-profit organization and begin his dream of a human powered
circumnavigation of the earth. He first decided to bicycle to Alaska,
in winter, and climb Denali. He did, and back. Recently he decided to
row the Atlantic. He and a Canadian adventurer left Portugal heading
for Costa Rica yesterday afternoon. I'd dearly love to have gone with
him. If you're interested you can check him out at around-n-over.org.
All this to say that sometimes new doors open when things look really
bleak. Take this opportunity and run, and good luck and good karma to
you. And by all means, send me pictures of Vietnam and that wonderful
9x9x9 block of marble. Do you have plans for it, or is it going to be a
surprise?
