Subject:
sintered diamond bits for detail work
Hi all, What a response! I thought I'd give complete details of why I
like diamonds bits for marble. In my opinion stone sculpting comes down to
speed and course diamond bits have the fastest stock removal both in bits
and rifflers. With Marble you don't want something that will glaze over or
burn the stone. The best I've found is a new technogoly called "vacuum
brazed" which is in the middle of sintered diamonds and electroplated, where
the dimonds are melted into the steel half way. You get the long lifetime
and a really smooth cut as well. The best price for these are at
http://www.2sculpt.com for about $35 for 1/4 shank bullet and below, compared to
around $100 in Italy. And if you just want titanium electroplated cheapies
try www.widgetsupply.com which sells 30pc et for $8 or less and you can get
all the same shape if needed.
Hope I could help Thanks, Patrick
