grinder wheels, elitism?
Hello All,
I have to agree with Clive. If it's there why not use it? We could go back
to the discussion of the CNC Carving machine with the same questions. To
each his own.
To the question of grinding wheels. In Germany, I met a sculptor called
Berndt Berkemper who only carves Diabas. The best that I have found out is
that this is a type of basalt. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
Berndt uses a four inch dia. diamond grinding wheel for smoothing down. The
sintered diamonds are approximately 1/2" thick.
At the Milani dealership between Pietrasanta and Carrara I saw these for
sale at about 140Euros for the top quality. The lower end units were about
60 Euros. These were all Metrically threaded.
Why have a bag of clubs if you're not going to give them a try?
John K.
