Stonework in Cemeteries on TV ( USA )
I just saw an interesting TV show (on PBS) about cemeteries around the USA,
containing quite a few images of beautiful carved memorials, statuary etc,
including a bronze statue manufactured to replace a marble piece that
disintegrated from air pollution! (it fell apart under it's own weight as the
pollution weakened the stone).
Some of the caretakers know quite a bit about the carvers responsible for
the work, as well, and tell their stories.
It was shown on Tuesday night here in the NYC area, and will be rebroadcast
several times in coming weeks. Check your local listings to see if it will be
on in your area.
