profile carving
That was very interesting, Oscar
It's the first time I've seen a stone carver work. I'm self taught and I
wasn't sure what was meant by profile carving though that's the way I just
naturally do it. I also see that the way I see the stone is the same as he
does..the abstract then notice the shapes within the block. I start with a
general idea in my mind but am open to whatever the stone wants to be and
will go that way if it desires.
I'm a new stone carver but find I already use the methods he was describing
for detailing, using the stick and pushing the chisel. Very interesting
link.Thanks
Mick
