Subject: How to paint letters cut in porous stone?

Quoted text begins.JVC said- I do use lithochrome paint which is formulated for stone. I think
the only altenative would be to use adhesive backed sign makers vinal, or
the sandblast resist (more expensive) to use
as a mask
End of quote.

I love the sandblast resist and have used it for years during my local
sign-age period..... In the back of my head I keep hearing ...there is
a place for this.......our local monument shop sells me any size piece
I want...at a waaaay tooo reasonable price....even entire rolls. I
have done sandblastable ( is that a word ? ) designs for them for
years, such as custom cars, religious figures, flowers, ETC ......long
before the net offerd clip everything.....and...monument shops know
about outdoor colorants for stone......

gulp.......I left an alabaster piece outdoors about 4 days after a
rain storm....we got 2 inches that day, and found the parts sitting
in rain water were so corroded I think I will have to use 80 grit
maybe 50 to begin to smooth things out.......acid rain ?....just a big
DUH ?......I have no clue..

About chat room things Mick and Dulce mentioned....I'm all for it , I
think, never been to a chat room and not sure how it all
works.....yes, I live in a cave.....if it's about stone, I'm all for
it....even the core drill stuff....I keep telling myself...one day I'm
going to need and want this info ;o) Think of the Maroochy
symposium......who ran that baby !!! Let's keep this going.....
