art scam
Hi people.
Yes, this is a scam that has been going on for a while now. I was
approached through a telephone for the hearing impaired operator a couple
of years ago.
Any time some one wants to sent you a large amount of extra money that you
are supposed to forward to a "shipping" company beware. I played with my
guy for a while, and have on hand a counterfeit cashiers check. Needless
to say, no art was shipped, and I did NOT forward the shipping money to the
shipping company. That is where you are taken if you send off the money
before the casiers check, money order or whatever is determined to be false.
There is a thread or two on the sculpture.net forum sculpture news and
events http://www.sculpture.net/community/
It is my sincere hope that no one gets taken in by this particular scam,
(or any other for that matter)
