Think about how eyebrows and sideburns are done on sculpture. Basically
the area is slightly raised from the surrounding facial area and
minimaly textured. You don't want the beard to be so specific that it
becomes a focal piont. That's why eyebrows are downplayed. So they don't
detract from the eyes.
