Alabaster staining
Daniel--
Welcome to the group. Why would you wish to stain a natural stone?
It seems like natural plastic would appear more beautiful and pleasing.
Otherwise, painting, spraying, immersion and radiation will stain almost
anything that is porus to liquid or neutrons. Gild the lily!
If you type "alabaster stain" or "stain alabaster" into Google you
can get painter's tricks for painting stain. The Greeks and Romans
sometimes painted marble statues, also-- today we have fine latex
enamels that would render a fine figurative statue even more beautiful.
