Stone staining - Soapstone

This sealer must be renewed every month.
Now that's interesting, I've never heard of resealing lab benches, I
know that the ones in my lab haven't been resealed in 24 yrs. <g >. I
wonder if this is common knowledge, or if they're some other stone.
Fortunately we don't use lots of strong chemicals.
