It's ilegal to forage for stone in many places. If you happen on
Federal land to forage don't get caught - the fines for taking one stone
or one plant are up to $2500 each. Of course this doesn't stop folks
from foraging but it could get expensive. If you forage on private land
get permission of the owner first in Arizona at least a load of buckshot
is not uncommon if you happen to trespass in some places. That said -
if careful - foraging is the best way - free stone is good-
