Travertine
Is travertine a sculptors rock? Would you use it?
Why? Looking at it, it seems a bit of a challenge to
work with: something that wont take a sharp edge but
that can have a crumbly almost decayed look to it.
Looking at various web sites it obviously is used to
make sculpture - I just wonder whether it's a
'gorgeous to work with' or 'fight to make it happen'
stone.
Deb ? idly thinking of stone and looking forward to a
weekend of marble and Portland bashing
