Travertine

Quoted text begins."Of course the open, relatively large-scale pores make a strong
statement visually except in works of a large scale, so your design
needs to allow for that. If you are not working on a heroic scale (or
at least over-life-size) then fine representational detail is not
recommended. "
End of quote.
Don and All , I am trying to sell a client on the idea of a nearly 8
foot carved column of New Mexican Travertine for an outside
installation in the south east US . Are there any great selling points
other than the extraordinary beauty and workability that I might share
with them ? What about draw backs: i,e, weathering or maintenance
issues .... soaking with Tenax sounds worthwhile .
Thanks,
William Moore
