pietrasanta-advice needed
You can easily find what you are looking for in Pietrasanta. Crates are easily ordered and stone can be shipped. I am not sure I wouldn't make the drive though as having the car will make gathering the stone easier because you will need to get around. In the river above Seravezza ( right next to Pietrasanta) there are river rocks of pure marble to be had for the taking. I get a lot of my stone from the off cuts of the marble industry. So finding pieces of 1-200 lbs or kg for free or next to nothing is quiet easy. What you spend in feul and wear on your truck, you will save in ease of getting around and finding what you want. If crossing the border you are asked, just say that all the pieces go together to make a sculpture. That should help with not paying any import duty. Good luck, artisti
