You see, it's a different world now. There are no tax issues within EU
nations, but the price of petrol has gone so high that doing your own driving is
much more expensive than at any time in history. So different from the days
when I traveled around europe (the 70's).
There's even a tunnel under the channel (a chunnel!) which lets rail freight
come right into the UK.
I'll never forget the excitement of boarding the old ferry for the trip to
The Continent. You really felt like you were going someplace then, when you
had to take a boat through the fog...
Like I said, I wish I was making the trip.
