Interesting to know. Ian knows his marble, and likes working with
sculptors, so perhaps its necessary to make sure he's around if you go there.

Not too far out of line, if it is good quality, since larger blocks
of statuario can cost that much in Italy now. But, as mentioned, you
can get small pieces very cheaply in Italy. Gas and transport will
cost more than the stone.
