Hi Gary,

The postcard arrived about two minutes ago with the mailman!

The card looks good, as does the alabaster sculpture.

If I get a chance I'll look at your newest additions to the website, but
meanwhile I am passing on some information you might be interested in:

I got a hit off my website in reference to my use of Belgian black
marble. It was from an Irish man who owns a quarry of a similar material
. . . here is what he wrote:

" . . . I would like to inform you that there is a little known marble in
Ireland which is identical to Belgian black. The quarry from which the
material comes is called Butlers Grove Quarry and is situated in the
South-East of Ireland close to the town of Kilkenny and has been quarried
by my family on and off for over thirty years. The quarry has a working
depth of 36 feet over an area of approximately three acres. Therefore,
the block sizes as yet are quite small. The bed depth being approximately
14 inches at the moment with some blocks being eight feet x 2 feet x 14
inches though most are smaller.
I would be more than happy to provide a photographs or samples if you or
any of your friends are interested in this material."

Then when I said I would be interested in hearing more about it -- asking
price etc. -- he replied:

" . . . Because the quarry is as yet not fully developed and in order to
promote the use of this stone, I am willing to provide you with the
blocks free of charge if you want to organize the transport yourself. I
will make out a list of the sizes of the present blocks in the quarry and
send you some photographs. As I do not yet have cutting equipment, the
blocks would be as taken directly from the quarry, as you will see by the
photographs. "

I have not yet received the list or any photos.
At the present time I am not interested in getting any of the marble,
even at the bargain price that he offers. Of course I wouldn't mind
trying some, but with the fact that Mary Anne and I only had a couple of
classes make this semester cash flow is at a low ebb right now. Perhaps
you are interested?

If so, realize that if he is not cutting the marble it is like
