where do rocks go
Hi George, rocks are gound up (we're talking geological time scales here)
via erosional processes and eventually end up as very small particles that
comprise soil, silt in water, and sand on your beaches. We have real
problems with beaches these days because so many rivers have been dammed
that the sand that normally ends up in beaches is trapped behind dams and
never reaches the ocean. You should think of streams and rivers as the
circulatory system of the land, most things that you dump on the ground
will eventually find their way into a stream or river via overland or
subsurface transport via ground or storm water (if it doesn't end up in a
subterranean aquifer). Well I hope that at least answers part of your
question. Have a good weekend everyone! atb, g
