YAY DUST
Quoted text begins.I do not take lightly the gauge of my subia and lament the loss of ever
centemeter of natural surface. Perhap that pushes me to do my best, to do
honor to the stone and even the men would extracted it at the risk of their
lives.
End of quote.
Ok, ok, I can't bring my self to throw out barbs of cynical logic that would
be tormenting a poor gentle prophet from the wilderness, who is only trying
to bring enlightenment to the savages. I'm a much better person now, and
have learned to curb my violent nature. I stopped clubbing baby seals a long
time ago.
I've learned to love my,,, our stone. I care for them, wash and dry them. I
take them everywhere they need to go. I mourn every scratch and chip. I talk
to all of my stone, and most importantly, I listen to them. In the quiet of
my studio I can hear one of them telling me it wants to be an altar to
humanity's yearning to control all the specks of the universe. There is
another one that wants to be hamster.
I don't judge which is more important than the other. I just sharpen my
chisels.
We all have a calling. I won't sneer at yours if you won't sneer at mine.
George
